I wanted to hear inspiring true stories where u believed and it happened… I wanted to encourage a friend of mine (as well as myself) to think more positive thoughts because he is sort of losing hope with his problems and I want him to expect only the best, not the worse out of this. Thanks!

If you pray, I am healed or I will get pregnant or whatever you desire, is that really the prayer spoken of in the bible? Is that having faith or telling God what you want Him to do?

I do have faith; yet, sometimes I feel the teachings are the same as through a psychologist’s viewpoints.
Think positive
Let Go, Let God
Hang in there. God is in Charge
etc.
I’m not saying psychologists put God in their sessions; just the application of reversing negative thoughts with positive ones.

Baller asked:

you have to let go Neo of fear, doubt and disbelief free your mind.
it is a very Buddhist/New Age statement. it means that if you let go of negative emotions, your mind will work better. free your mind to be able to work better by not indulging in fear, doubt and disbelief. for people who have spent years training in Budhist discipline, it actually works. the place you can most see this in society would be sports. the idea of a positive mental attitude would revolve around that premise and could be related to the majority of top athletes.

Brian J asked:

I don’t understand all the hype these days about positive thinking and to avoid negative thinking. The scientific method is based on Critical Reasoning (not positive reasoning) supported by observation and that has worked pretty well I think.
I find, for myself, dwelling on the positive is just as likely to produce failures as is dwelling on the negative. Why not put effort on keeping the thinking realistic? That’s what works for me anyhow. Even if the realistic assessment is pretty gloomy, I find this is better than not being realistic.
